Assignment:  Write one page abstract of subject you want to discuss for your research paper
  • ·         Include topics that you want to discuss
  • ·         Bring me 3 ACADEMIC sources that are related to your topic
  • ·         Use the library
  • ·         2 source must come from JSTOR/EBSCOhost/Books/Journal Articles

  • Read your sources, print them out, and have them ready for next class period

  • ·         Do not use Wikipedia, or general internet sources
  • ·         I will allow you to use NPR, The New Yorker, The Atlantic, Vice as 1 of your sources
  • ·         I will check sources and collect abstract next class period

Assignment: Organize Portfolio

  • Include all of your assignments, papers, notes, articles
  • Organize them in sections
  • Bring your folder
  • I will provide Index page (under assigned readings). Print it out.

I will be conferencing with each one of you and let you know where you stand on your grades
  • Several of you didn't turn in your Gender Studies assignment/ and or haven't completed it. I will be discussing your options.
  • Take the time that I give you in class to workshop your essay! It's your grade on the line.

Gender Studies Paper Due

  •  3 page paper
  • Parenthetical Citations (APA)
  • Works Cited Page
  • 1 Source (NPR, The Atlantic, The New Yorker, JSTOR, EBSCOHost)

Your topic can be anything related to Gender Studies.

Use the definitions (patriarchy, matriarchy, feminist theory, Marxist theory, double standards, biases, etc...) we discussed in class if it applies to your topic including a way to theorize (bigger idea) about your topic (critical theory).
